User Guide - SLR1200MS Variable Shade Laser Welding Helmet

SLR1200MS Variable Shade Laser Welding Helmet User Guide

The Strata SLR1200MS Variable Shade Laser Welding Helmet is purpose-designed to protect against scattered and diffused laser radiation generated during handheld laser welding. Certified to EN 207 and multiple AS/NZS standards, it provides laser-rated protection across key near-infrared wavelengths including 900–1100 nm. Featuring adjustable shade levels from 2.5 to 5, a large 100 × 60 mm viewing area, and a durable carbon fibre front plate, the SLR1200MS delivers certified laser safety, clarity and comfort for professional laser welding applications.

Strata SLR1200MS Variable Shade Laser Welding Helmet

Laser welding systems generate high-intensity near-infrared radiation that standard welding helmets are not designed to protect against.
The Strata SLR1200MS Laser Welding Helmet is engineered specifically for use with handheld laser welding systems, offering certified protection against scattered and diffused laser emissions while maintaining visibility and operator comfort.

Certified Laser Protection for Industrial Use
The SLR1200MS is certified to EN 207:2017 and complies with key international and Australian/New Zealand standards, including:

  • AS/NZS ISO 19818.1
  • AS/NZS 1337.1
  • AS/NZS 1338.1
  • EN ISO 16321-1
  • EN ISO 16321-2
  • EN 207

The laser-rated filter system provides protection across critical industrial laser wavelength ranges:

  • 900–1000 nm (OD6+)
  • 1000–1100 nm (OD7+)
  • 1064 nm (OD10+)

This ensures protection against near-infrared emissions commonly produced by fibre laser welding systems.

Adjustable Variable Shade for Precision Work
Unlike fixed-shade laser helmets, the SLR1200MS offers adjustable shade settings from W2.5 to W5, allowing operators to tune visibility based on working conditions and material reflectivity.
Visible light transmission options include:

  • 15% (W3)
  • 10% (W3.5)
  • 5% (W4)
  • 2% (W5)

This improves situational awareness while maintaining certified protection.

Large Viewing Area for Improved Control
The 100 × 60 mm viewing window provides enhanced visibility compared to standard laser eye protection, improving positioning accuracy and weld control during detailed laser work.

Durable Carbon Fibre Construction
The helmet features a carbon fibre front plate for enhanced durability in industrial environments, offering resistance to impact and workshop wear.

Comfort and Practicality for Daily Use
Designed for extended use, the SLR1200MS includes:

  • Four-point headgear adjustment (top/depth, tightness, tilt angle, face-to-lens distance)
  • Replaceable inner and outer protection lenses
  • Low-battery indicator
  • CR2032 battery power system

Operating temperature range: -10°C to +65°C
Storage temperature range: -20°C to +85°C

Designed for Handheld Laser Welding Applications
The Strata SLR1200MS is suitable for:

  • Handheld fibre laser welding
  • Laser repair and maintenance
  • Fabrication workshops
  • Industrial manufacturing environments

It provides the protection level required for modern laser welding systems while maintaining operator comfort and field usability.

Warranty
Covered by a 12-month manufacturer warranty.
